The
Intelligence Unit serves as an investigative support and information
resource center for the law enforcement community. The
primary focus of this unit is missing person and burglary
investigations. Analytical and technical assistance is provided in these
investigations through the use of available resources and databases as
investigative tools.
The
Intelligence Unit assists in missing person investigations through the
administration of the TRAK system.
This system enables police agencies to immediately distribute
high-quality fliers to numerous police agencies, hospitals, and people
that can help recover missing persons.
The Intelligence Unit also provides assistance to local agencies
involved in burglary investigations through access to numerous sources
of information.
The unit analyses and prepares intelligence reports based on this
information and any similar criminal activity in the surrounding
communities.
